[WARNING, MAY INCLUDE RANT]

Well, in short, I am sick of seeing people genuinely believe they can change the world...

There will always be poor people, there will always be rich people. Ce la vie...

  1. A huge amount of the things that lifted masses such as ourselves out of workhouse poverty - civil rights, legal protections, healthcare, unemployment benefits, education funding, the pension we'll one day rely on - exist because of people protesting and refusing to accept all the blame for being at the bottom of a very steep rich-poor divide with rules written by those at the top. The Chartists, the Suffragettes, the Civil Rights movement, LGBT pride, the Tolpuddle Martyrs, the anti-war movement; our lives would be miserable without their victories.

And a huge boost to their efforts was the international anticapitalist momentum that was kick-started by the Russian Revolution. Imperial powers succeeding in isolating and starving that revolution until ration line enforcers became state bureaucrats is not an argument to accept capitalism. Especially whilst the majority are having their living standards eroded for the purpose of paying off the gambling debts of banksters.
